Haskins Garden Centres and Hobbycraft
“They are very straightforward people to work with. If, after further explanation from them, we still don’t like something they have put forward, they don’t take offence. They don’t continue to argue their corner but concentrate on fighting ours! I would say that a distinctive feature of the firm is that they are lively, stimulating people to be with. I think that is an important characteristic because if you are an enthusiast, and genuinely enjoy what you are doing, then that is going to be reflected not just in the finished product but the process of getting there.”

“We had an incredibly tight timescale between seasons to both design and build the Minerva Theatre refurbishment. HPW Architecture embraced this very quickly and they were able to deliver a concept that met both our design and operational aspirations. The ability to respond so promptly and effectively was a significant factor in protecting a very tight construction period. Having now been completed on time and budget, we are indeed proud of the light, cohesion and quality so evident in the Minerva Refurbishment. We are very grateful to HPW for the huge part they played in the success of the Minerva refurbishment project.”

“I have worked closely with HPW for more than 10 years on a number of leisure projects ranging from £0.5m to more than £5m. We have able to effectively step back from projects to a degree in the confident knowledge that the build and the budget were in safe hands. Beaulieu Enterprises
“We were very pleased with our decision to choose HPW for our restaurant refurbishment. Their team approached the project with a blend of professionalism and creativity that made the entire process smooth and stress-free.
Our restaurant is a very important part of the day visitor experience, and a whole visit can be spoiled by a less than satisfactory encounter. Their designers took the time to truly understand our visitors’ needs and preferences, and the result was a beautifully refurbished space that exceeded our expectations while staying true to the character of Beaulieu and its surroundings.
Their approach and attention to detail ensured that every aspect of the design was thoughtfully considered, resulting in a space that is both functional and inviting.
We would highly recommend HPW to anyone looking for architects who are not only skilled at what they do but also genuinely care about their clients' satisfaction."

The Dolphin Hotel
“The hotel is a grade 2* property and HPW undertook obtaining all the local council consents we needed. We worked closely with their team and after a mere two months, we started work on the project.
The project involved a total remodel of the ground floor, creating two new bars, a restaurant and new reception; the refurbishment of 65 bedrooms and furnishing each with contemporary art; and the creation of a lane of shops. We had allocated £1.2m for the project and HPW quickly came to grips with the tight budget and timescales involved.
The team constantly looked for more cost effective solutions to our build, as well as sourcing all the interior design details such as furnishings and light fittings. We managed to complete the project on time and on budget.
Having worked with many architects over the years, it was refreshing to work with a company that understood our ambitions and worked towards them - instead of creating their own agenda, which inevitably leads to overspend and time delays.
I would have no hesitation in recommending HPW.
